The Day New York’s High Places Invited God’s Judgment
The year was 1970 — a year that quietly altered the future of a nation. An act of mocking God turned into a year that shifted the United States onto an irreversible path toward God’s judgment. Few recognized it. Fewer still understood what it meant. But heaven saw our turning, and the consequences have unfolded ever since.
From her earliest days, godly men prayed that America would be a nation built on biblical values. Men like John Winthrop, an early Puritan, believed that if America honored God, the nation would become a “city upon a hill,” shining under the favor and protection of God Himself.

Winthrop declared that if America stayed faithful to God’s laws, it would prosper unlike any nation on earth — outside of Israel. And he was right. America’s rise was nothing short of miraculous, defying explanation as it grew into a nation that not only prospered internally but extended blessings beyond its borders.
But blessings only remain where God is honored. When a nation turns, God’s judgment eventually follows.
The ancient gods that once destroyed Israel — the very same evil spirits behind their collapse — quietly crossed the ocean as America gradually removed the spiritual protections God once placed over her.
What did this mean for the city of New York? And was all of this a prophetic foreshadowing of God judging America today?
The Sexual Revolution and the Doorway To God’s Judgment
The 1960s erupted with the sexual revolution — the same spirit operating behind Ashtoreth, the false goddess that turned the Israelites away from God. Under her influence, Israel spiraled into sexual immorality, perversion, and even gender distortion. Today’s gender confusion is not new; it is ancient.
America opened its cultural doors, and Ashtoreth stepped through. She brought sexuality from the privacy of the family bedroom into the public square. Pornography exploded, devastating marriages, families, and entire communities.
But how did all of this lead to God’s judgment on New York City? And how did God judging ancient Israel mirror what was coming for America?
Molech Enters America: A Direct Challenge That Invites God’s Judgment
Ashtoreth opened and entered the cultural door, and Molech walked through it.
Molech — the ancient god of child sacrifice — was the very deity God fiercely warned Israel not to worship. The Israelites disobeyed, sacrificing their sons and daughters on the altars on high places built for Molech. Scripture makes it clear: nothing brings God’s judgment faster than the shedding of innocent blood.
America in the 1960s began practicing the same horror, though under a different name. Abortion became the modern altar of sacrifice, and the same ancient evil spirits rejoiced.
“They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molech, though I never commanded—nor did it enter my mind—that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin.” (Jeremiah 32:35)
Then came the year that sealed our national shift — 1970.
New York’s First Fall: Legalizing Abortion and Mocking God
In 1970, New York became the first state to legalize abortion. The governor and legislature of New York, influenced by the spirits behind Molech, made the city and the state the abortion gateway of the nation — and eventually the abortion capital.
This act wasn’t merely political. It was spiritual. It was the moment America crossed a line God had clearly drawn. The armor once protecting the nation was cracked open. Media, culture, and morality shifted. And from this breach, God’s judgment began to stir.
The Altars Are Rebuilt: New York’s Celebration Of Death
Fast forward fifty years to 2019.
Being the abortion capital wasn’t enough. The spirit of Molech elevated his demands. Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the New York legislature passed sweeping laws expanding abortion up to the moment of birth. They broadened who could perform abortions and built legal protections to ensure abortion thrived.
Then came the moment of open defiance — a moment of mocking God with stunning boldness.
Gov. Cuomo ordered the high places of New York — the skyscrapers — to be lit in pink, celebrating the expanded abortion laws. Just as ancient Israel built high places to honor Molech, New York used its modern high places to shine a defiant, mocking light into the heavens.
On that day, New York shook its fist at God.
Then, God’s judgment moved closer.
On that day, Gov. Cuomo set himself on a collision course with the justice of God.
Covid-19 Strikes: The First Wave Of God’s Judgment
New York did not wait long for God’s response to its celebration of death and public mocking God.
Suddenly, the plague of COVID-19 hit. No city suffered like New York. The images of bodies buried in mass graves remain seared into the nation’s memory. The city that lit its high places pink mocking God became the city of mourning.
This was God judging — a clear strike of God’s judgment. But was it the end? Or was it only the beginning?
The Fall Of A Governor: God Judging Those Who Mock Him
In the years that followed, political scandals overwhelmed Gov. Cuomo. The same man who lit the high places to mock God now faced a rapid fall from power. His authority crumbled. His influence vanished. News headlines were filled with scandal. He went from the highest political podium to the outside looking in.
Was God’s judgment complete? Or did more remain?
A Return To Power Blocked: God’s Judgment Continues
Recently, Gov. Cuomo sought to return to power — to reclaim authority over the very city he once used to mock God. But on election night, his hopes collapsed. He found himself standing opposite the seat he desperately wanted, watching it slip through his fingers.
And the city itself? God handed it over — not to righteousness, but to its own rebellion. The one who claims to oppose the God of the Bible and Israel now rules. The consequence of rejecting God always creates a vacuum, and that vacuum has now been filled by evil spiritual forces: Ashtoreth and Molech and a new leader.
This, too, is God judging.
Is God’s Judgment Finished—Or Just Beginning?
Is this the end of God’s judgment on New York? Or is it a preview of the judgment coming on the entire nation — a nation that has deliberately chosen to defy the God who blessed it?
The coming days of America may be revealed first in the coming days of New York City. What happens there may become a prophetic window into the future of the United States.
One thing is certain: the wages of sin is death, and mocking God brings God’s judgment without fail. He is holy. He is just. But He is also merciful. In Scripture, before every act of God judging, He warns. He calls. He urges repentance.
New York stands at a crossroads. So does America.
Will the city’s coming days reveal a final warning?
Or a preview of nationwide judgment on a nation that has chosen to oppose God?
The time of revelation is close. Things are moving quickly. And when it arrives, the whole world will know.
